Representative from New Jersey; born in New Jersey, January 30, 1963; graduated from Bordentown Regional High School, Bordentown, N.J., 1981; A.B., Princeton University, Princeton, N.J., 1985; M.D., Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, P.A., 1989; J.D., Rutgers University, Camden, N.J., 1996; physician; United States Air Force, 1992-1996; member of the New Jersey general assembly, 1998-2025, deputy speaker, 2002-2005 and 2022-2025, majority whip, 2014-2017; unsuccessful candidate for election to the One Hundred and Ninth Congress in 2004; director, health department, Burlington County, N.J., 2019-2025; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Nineteenth Congress (January 3, 2025-present).
